Our Hiller Court residential home is located in a quiet area of Butler, NJ. Hiller was our very first home, chosen by our Board President back in 2001. It is in it's 21st year as part of the ALFA family. The home has undergone a significant refurbishment this past year, adding two new bedrooms to replace a previously shared bed space. All five friends living in the home now have their own bedroom, a relocated and upgraded laundry area, a redesigned recreation room, a new administrative office area, and a dedicated room for administering medications. The home's two main bathrooms have also been totally renovated to bring them up to date, and now have walk-in showers, rather than a traditional tub and shower that had been in place previously. In addition, windows have also been replaced with more energy efficient units and the home recently had its wood floors refinished. We are not stopping there and have additional upgrades planned for 2023. The home is well situated for the many stores and restaurants in the Butler and Riverdale area.
Our Hopler Place home, is located in a very quiet residential area of West Milford. This newly built home was constructed in the past few years on vacant land, backed up to forever wild land, and thus has a very quiet and secluded rear yard. The home is a single level ranch style and was designed with disability access in mind. It has entry ramps, wide hallways and doorways, boasts 4 generously sized single bedrooms and 2 oversized bathrooms with walk-in showers. The home has a huge basement area for clients of additional homes and client's belongings. As well as a communal open floor-plan living space and dining area, the home also benefits from a small den, its own administrative office and a stand alone laundry room. With such a quiet neighborhood, friends from the home take full advantage of the area for light exercise. It is also conveniently located for all of our day program sites.
